Upcoming event details
ISF Deal Series: Chicago
September 16, 2026 · Marriott Marquis Chicago · Chicago, Illinois
The Chicago ISF event centers on meetings selected by attendees using the organizer’s scheduling system, with discussions and networking between meeting blocks. Admission is by invitation for vetted independent sponsors and capital providers with a defined independent-sponsor strategy. It is a focused option for comparing potential capital relationships in one day.
The Emerging Independent Sponsor Boot Camp takes place on September 15 for eligible sponsors early in their independent careers. The organizer states that Boot Camp registration includes access to the September 16 Deal Series. Review the experience and eligibility requirements before applying.
iGlobal Independent Sponsors Summit: New York
September 28–29, 2026 · New York, New York
iGlobal’s New York summit combines conference programming with a structured meeting schedule for independent sponsors, capital providers, and the wider deal community. The organizer advertises 26 one-to-one meeting slots. That describes the scheduling opportunity, not a guarantee that an attendee will secure 26 suitable appointments.
Check the pass category, meeting access, and participant profile before registering. A two-day program can accommodate both new introductions and time to revisit a promising conversation.
McGuireWoods Independent Sponsor Conference
October 27–28, 2026 · Fairmont Dallas · Dallas, Texas
McGuireWoods combines panel discussions with its signature speed-networking sessions. The conference is designed for independent sponsors and capital providers actively investing in independent sponsor transactions, including family offices, private equity funds, and lenders.
Attendance eligibility matters here. The organizer excludes investment banks, search funds, consultants, placement agents, and other service providers. Someone working in the acquisition market should check those rules before treating this as a general private equity networking event.
ISF Deal Series: Los Angeles
November 17, 2026 · Hilton Los Angeles Airport · Los Angeles, California
The Los Angeles event uses the ISF invitation-only format, with vetted sponsors and capital providers selecting one-to-one meetings. It offers another regional opportunity to meet firms with an explicit independent-sponsor strategy and to continue relationships formed earlier in the year.
Service-provider participation is limited under the organizer’s sponsorship rules. Review the relevant application and attendee category rather than assuming an invitation is open to every acquisition professional.
iGlobal Independent Sponsors Summit: West Coast
December 1–2, 2026 · Los Angeles, California
iGlobal’s West Coast summit brings independent sponsors and capital providers together for a two-day program with curated meetings. Its current event listing places it in Los Angeles on December 1–2. It is a separate event from the November ISF Deal Series in the same city.
For attendees considering both, compare the participant lists, meeting arrangements, and reasons for returning. The value of a second trip depends on whom it allows you to meet or follow up with.

Which independent sponsor conference should you attend?
Choose a conference by the people you need to meet, the meeting format, and whether you qualify to attend. A sponsor seeking an equity partner, a lender developing sponsor relationships, and an intermediary looking for buyers may need different rooms.
Comparing conference attendees and meeting formats
Three questions that make an event shortlist more useful.
- Who needs to be there?Identify the investor, lender, sponsor, or intermediary profile that fits your business and transaction size.
- How will you meet?Compare scheduled one-to-one meetings, informal networking, panels, and smaller dinner formats.
- What should happen next?Define a useful next step: a criteria discussion, a teaser review, a diligence call, or a follow-up introduction.
CapitalPad planning framework. Event attendance and scheduled meetings do not establish investment interest or a funding commitment.
For independent sponsors seeking equity partners
Prioritize firms whose check sizes, industry preferences, governance expectations, and sponsor requirements fit your approach. Establish whether each firm leads investments, follows another investor, or provides a particular portion of the capital structure. A meeting with the wrong mandate is unlikely to improve with a longer pitch.
Use a conference to test those relationships before exclusivity makes every delay expensive. CapitalPad’s guide to how independent sponsors raise capital explains how equity discussions, debt financing, diligence, and closing work together.
For capital providers and lenders
State the criteria a sponsor can act on: company size, geography, industry, investment amount, role in the transaction, and how you make decisions. If you require a lead equity investor, a particular sponsor track record, or a minimum EBITDA level, make that clear before arranging the next call.
For intermediaries and professional advisers
Check access rules before building a calendar around an event. Some conferences welcome a wider deal community, while others limit service-provider participation or exclude it entirely. SBIA’s Midwest program, for example, lists investment bankers among its audience but sets separate conditions for lenders and service providers. McGuireWoods applies a narrower sponsor-and-capital-provider rule.6, 13
How should independent sponsors prepare for conference meetings?
Prepare a short explanation of your acquisition strategy, a targeted meeting list, and a clear next step for each relevant conversation. When a company is under LOI, be ready to explain the business, purchase price, earnings, financing plan, equity need, and timing without requiring the other person to reconstruct the deal.
- Write an informative profile. Include industries, target company size, geography, relevant experience, and what kind of capital relationship you are seeking.
- Research the other firm’s mandate. Use our independent sponsor capital provider directory to compare check sizes and structures, then confirm whether the firm leads or follows and whether your transaction fits its mandate.
- Prepare materials for the stage of the conversation. A short introduction or non-confidential teaser may be enough for a first meeting. Share detailed materials under the appropriate confidentiality arrangements.
- Know the unanswered questions. Distinguish preliminary financing assumptions from lender indications, and investor interest from committed equity.
- Record a specific follow-up. Note the decision-maker, requested materials, open questions, and agreed next conversation.
Example: meeting a lead investor or a co-investor
Consider a sponsor evaluating a hypothetical U.S. specialty-packaging manufacturer with $2.4 million of EBITDA. The sponsor expects to need $5.2 million of equity but has not selected a lead investor. A firm that generally invests $750,000 to $1.5 million could be relevant, but its check would not by itself solve the entire equity requirement.
The useful conversation establishes whether that firm can participate alongside a lead, what it needs to see in the company, and how it evaluates the sponsor. A productive follow-up might be a teaser review once the proposed equity structure is clearer. For a potential lead investor, the conversation would also address who sets terms, coordinates diligence, and helps assemble the remaining equity.
That distinction makes the meeting actionable. The sponsor leaves knowing where the investor might fit and what evidence is needed to advance the discussion.
Connecting with an equity investor between conferences
Independent sponsors can approach CapitalPad directly with an acquisition opportunity that fits its investment criteria. CapitalPad invests in independent sponsor transactions involving established, historically profitable U.S. and Canadian lower middle market businesses. Sponsors can review CapitalPad’s independent sponsor investment criteria and share a company under LOI for consideration.19
Common questions about independent sponsor conferences
Are independent sponsor conferences invitation only?
Some are. The ISF Deal Series requires invitations for vetted participants. Other events offer registration by attendee category, and McGuireWoods restricts attendance to independent sponsors and capital providers actively investing in those transactions. Check the organizer’s current eligibility rules before buying travel.11, 13, 15
Can an independent sponsor attend before having a deal under LOI?
That depends on the event’s admission criteria. Relationship-building can be useful before a transaction is ready, provided the sponsor can explain a credible acquisition strategy and relevant experience. ISF identifies both established sponsors and emerging sponsors with relevant backgrounds among its participants.15
Do these conferences include debt providers?
Yes, several include lenders or private credit investors alongside equity capital providers. Their participation rules vary. Sponsors should distinguish a lender meeting from an equity-investor meeting and explain the proposed financing accordingly.13, 15
Does registering guarantee meetings with investors?
No. Admission, scheduling access, accepted meeting requests, and investment interest are different things. Read how the event allocates meetings and whether both participants must accept. A full calendar is most useful when the participants’ mandates fit one another.
Should sponsors attend every event?
A selective calendar is usually more productive. Prioritize relevant participants, workable meeting access, and the time needed to follow up. Repeatedly seeing the right firms can deepen a relationship, but additional travel has little value if earlier conversations never progress.
How this calendar was prepared
CapitalPad compiled this selected 2026 calendar from official organizer pages, dated announcements, agendas, and event archives, checked on September 14, 2026. It covers independent-sponsor-focused gatherings and selected adjacent lower middle market events. It is not an exhaustive directory of every private equity conference.
Dates, locations, and access rules are attributed to their organizers. CapitalPad contributes the comparison of event formats, preparation guidance, and hypothetical meeting example. Past and upcoming dates are clearly marked in the full-year table; organizers control changes, availability, and admission.
